Speicherstadt tour with coffee tasting

Here you can experience the fascination of spices, tea, coffee and cocoa in the world-famous warehouses of the Speicherstadt.

For centuries, what is really rare and expensive has been traded here. Flying carpets from the Orient in the world’s largest trading centre for these handmade treasures. Spices from all over the world, flavours to smell, taste and discover. Add to this the unique history of the Port of Hamburg, the main transshipment centre for these goods, especially for cocoa and coffee. Coffee dynasties were founded here, such as those of Jakobs and Darboven.

Europe’s coffee exchange was here in the Speicherstadt and the first telegraph lines, the transatlantic cables, were laid to connect the stock exchanges of New York and Hamburg. Europe’s largest cocoa warehouse can be seen on the tour as well as the traditional ship harbour in the oldest harbour basin of the Hanseatic city.

Among other things, we visit a speciality shop and sample a coffee liqueur.

The tour ends at the coffee roastery, where you will experience a professional coffee tasting. There you will learn lots of new things about Germany’s favourite drink and can try a variety of coffees.
