Welcome to Alma Hoppes Lustspielhaus!
Right in the heart of Hamburg-Eppendorf, Hamburg’s largest venue for political satirical cabaret awaits you – with 350 seats and plenty of wordplay. Since the theatre was built in 1927, it has seen quite a lot: it has served as a community centre, a cinema and a theatre before becoming Hamburg’s Institute for Satirical Explosives.

Here you’ll find a quick-witted programme packed with political and satirical cabaret, featuring the ensemble’s in-house productions and guest appearances by renowned German actors and cabaret artists – from sharp-tongued banter to side-splitting comedy, there’s something for everyone. As well as cabaret, the venue also hosts readings, live podcasts, a cappella concerts and improv theatre.
