The MGGU is a multidisciplinary forum for art and science. Its exhibitions address current social and academic issues and open up new perspectives that transcend disciplinary boundaries. Overlooked artistic voices from the Rhine-Main region are presented within the context of art and film studies research at Goethe University. Founded in 2000 by the Giersch Foundation, the MGGU has been part of Goethe University since 2015. The museum is housed in a villa on the banks of the Main in Sachsenhausen.
