From then until now – In the footsteps of artistic Leipzig
The Sparkasse Leipzig Art Gallery presents a curated selection from the Sparkasse Leipzig art collection in themed exhibitions. With paintings, prints, photography and sculpture, the collection offers an insight into the history and present day of art in Leipzig.
After being closed for five years, the Sparkasse Leipzig Art Gallery reopened in 2026 to mark the 200th anniversary of Sparkasse Leipzig. The current exhibition, ‘In the Face of the Times’, brings together around 60 works spanning 60 years of Leipzig art, with a focus on the human figure. Through a collaboration with the painting class at the HGB, led by Prof. Ivana de Vivanco, the artistic ‘here and now’ is also incorporated into the exhibition. Student artists respond to selected works from the perspective of their contemporary practice.
Information on current exhibitions and related events can be found on our website, on our social media channels and in our newsletter.
Standard admission to our exhibitions ranges from €0 to €5.
