Ahoy, sailors! Are you ready for a trip you’ll never forget? The Isar is one of Germany’s last wild rivers, so being able to go rafting here is something truly special.
The meeting point for your Isar rafting trip in Bavaria is at our camp in Lenggries. From there, we’ll walk together in full gear (wetsuit, life jacket, helmet and paddle) to the launch point on the Isar, which is just a two-minute walk away.
Once we reach the river, you’ll be briefed on safety procedures, the boat and the techniques for rafting on the Isar.
Then it’s straight into the water. The calm opening stretch is perfect for taking the occasional swim. Too boring? Just wait and see! Because for adrenaline junkies, the ‘little Isar cataract’ – affectionately known to us as the ‘Isarburg’ – lies in wait: a Class 3 white-water section that’ll really shake you up. Here, the order is: everyone paddle hard!
Before tackling it, you’ll have the chance to inspect the spot so you can decide whether to go through the section or bypass it. Anyone who gets carried away by this special thrill can tackle the Isar cataract as many times as they like.
The journey continues along the foothills of the Alps through a beautiful floodplain landscape to the end of the tour in Bad Tölz. Afterwards, we’ll organise your return journey to the camp, either by taxi or bus. Isar Rafting Bavaria is ideal for anyone who wants to spend a fun summer’s day on an idyllic stretch of the Isar.
Get in touch and we’ll help you plan an unforgettable trip on one of Germany’s last wild rivers!
